Sister's Home Coming

Today, after holding a church service at Mid West City Nursing Center, we learned that a little earlier this afternoon at 1:30, a sister that resided at this Center was buried. She was very faithful to those Saturday meetings. We shall miss her. I am sure she has reached her reward and is shouting in glory for the Saviors' mighty work in her life. We have ministered to her since Mother's day last year. I will not forget her or the light that danced in her eye as she would testify for the LORD at the services on Saturday. Her favorite song request was, "Oh, How I Love Jesus".

Toward the end of May in 2003, this sister raised her hand and leaned forward on her wheel chair and said, "I'm saved. I'm really saved. I'm saved. I'm saved." A look of wonder and triumph radiated outward as she reasserted her stand and her conviction. Not really knowing her; we didn't know how to respond. Some like to get saved every week and forget they did and then get saved again, next time. We do not mind this. We are as we are. But not this Sister, this one last big affirmation was enough. I do not mean we are to stop praying to God. Heaven forbid. For this prayer and repentance is our currency for gaining more of Him. Praying to the Father; exchanges our wood, hay and stubble for the gold, silver and precious stones of the LORD. The first time of accepting our LORD opens the pathway of a continuing love affair with JESUS. Everything else is a bonus.

Since that day in May, when testimony time rolled around each week, she was faithful to stand up for God. She was faithful to testify when no one else would. Her favorite testimony was to say, "God woke me up this morning." Other times she would get so full of the Lord and His goodness that tears of joy would stand out in her eyes and she would say, "I'm just too full of the Lord to tell it." or "I'm too full to tell it." What a testimony.

Join with me in prayer and praise as we rejoice with this sister's graduation from this earthly home to her heavenly reward.
